You wrote the book.
Let me help you bring it to the world.
Meet with me to discuss the marketing plan that will work best for your book. We’ll go over what social media you should have, what you should have on your website, how to reach your target audience and how to build your brand.
Recommended for first-time authors or aspiring authors working to build a platform who don’t yet have a published book.
You feel confident you can run your accounts and do your outreach yourself, but you need material to put on those accounts. I will create the documents you need for success.
What to expect:
- Basic Marketing documents such as a press release and a title information sheet
- Bookplate, Bookmark, and Business Card designs
- Event flyer template
- Graphics sized for social media (Limit 20)
- Coming Soon, Preorder, Now Available, Teaser, Endorsement graphics OR an endorsement template, and 3D book mockup arrangements
- One-time review of your social media accounts and website to provide feedback to help you grow.
Marketing Basics – Extension
Receive everything you would gain from the Marketing Basics plan with an additional:
- Standard length advertising copy
- Keyword Optimization for your online description
- Optimized Back Cover Copy
Prepared for Publishing Package
Initial Consultation, full Marketing Basics and Extension, as well as cover design and interior layout, followed by three months of my retainer service. This package is designed to give you everything you need to self-publish your book and get it out to the world.
Retainer Service – Prerequisite Required
Meet with me up to two times per month and email me your questions to get support as you put our plan into action.
Recommended for authors approaching their launch season who need extra support and want to stay on track.
If you previously purchased a Marketing service with me, this service may also include graphic design for events (at an additional cost).
Prerequisite: You must have worked with me prior to signing up for this plan.
Full Service – Limited Availability
The two of us work collaboratively to bring your book to the world through online marketing opportunities and your own platform. I work on your behalf, ghostwriting and scheduling social media posts and advertising campaigns within your budget and your accounts through Facebook, BookBub, and other opportunities such as Goodreads giveaways.
This is the perfect option for you if you know you want to get your books out there but you don’t have the time or willingness to do it yourself. However, it is strictly collaborative because of the nature of an online platform. You must be involved in the process in order to have the best effect.
This service is highly selective and requires an application for consideration.
What to expect:
- At least one social media post about your book per week
- A minimum of one planning call per month
- Cost-effective advertising on BookBub
- Reviewer and Influencer outreach
- Basic marketing documents such as a press release and a title information sheet
- Bookplate, Bookmark, and Business Card designs by request
Additional Services – Genre and Publishing Path Specific
It’s no secret that everyone judges books by their covers. Your cover is vital to your success as an author. This is genre exclusive, and is limited to independent authors or traditional publishing houses looking to expand their freelance pool.
If you write Thriller, Mystery, Crime, Contemporary YA, or Fantasy, and you need a cover created, please contact me to see how we can work together and to get a quote. If your book does not fit these genres, I will not be a good fit for this service. Excepting Contemporary YA, I do not design covers for romance novels.
Book Interior Layout
The inside of your book is as important as the outside. There are certain standards book interiors must hold to.
I will provide layouts and book files (print and eBook) for fiction, memoir, and simple business books. If you have many diagrams or photos, I am not the right fit. I do not layout erotica or books with a need for a complex design. Please contact me to determine if I would be a good fit for you and to get a quote.
This service is available for independent authors and publishing houses looking to expand their freelance pool.
Query Review and Feedback
Your query is your first impression. Without a good query, you are likely to receive many rejections without much feedback on why your book was rejected from the agency or publishing house. This service is only available to authors pursuing traditional or hybrid publishing opportunities, and is genre exclusive.
Excepting Contemporary YA, I do not review queries for romance or erotica.
Clear and concise help for my writing needs at the time. Very friendly and passionate about the craft!
Jori was extremely helpful when I was struggling with organization of my novel. We talked for 15 minutes about my plot and main conflict. She was able to point out connections in my story that I had not thought of yet. Because of that conversation, I am able to begin again on a novel that has frustrated me for six months.
Her skills extend to website and graphic design where her artistic eye really shines through. She pays attention to the details and offers valuable feedback on manuscripts.
“I wish [Jori] had been around … when my [first] book came out!” – Linda Vigen Phillips, award-wining author of Crazy and Behind These Hands
“Jori is the best! Great ideas and enthusiasm!” – Nancy Nau Sullivan, author of the Blanche Murninghan Mysteries
“J. J. Hanna is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable in the publishing industry. I’ve consulted with her on multiple occasions about book marketing and platform building, and she always has helpful guidance. I highly recommend her author services!” — Megan Alms, author of Creature from the Woods
